Some of my friends were on the team and they suggested it to me. I thought it was gonna be brutal like WWE, but I liked that stuff so I decided to try it out.
I was told that we practice on Tuesday night at 6:30 so I started coming out to Club. Then I got the forms and all that good stuff and didn't hesitate to sign up. I'm still a member because I enjoy wrestling and I think club tournaments and OFSAA are the best parts of the season.
KOWC provides athletes with the opportunity to practice wrestling at a more intense level than regular practice offers and provides more opportunities than regular practice (ie Provincials and Nationals). It helps wrestlers to get serious about the sport and then we have a reason to take our health really seriously.
When I first started attending practice, I just wanted to wrestle and I put little effort into being a good practice partner. Mr. Roberts and other Coaches from the KOWC have taught me to make sure my partner is able to learn moves and to not wrestle 100% if my partner is smaller or less strong than myself. They taught me how to give and take at practice and I am a more considerate person because of this.
The KOWC coaches definitely use and promote teamwork to help athletes. Team and Club members are always trying to improve each others' wrestling skills whether we are at practice or at a tournament. There are always other Club members willing to coach an athlete during their match if that athlete's Coach is already busy.

Describe how the KOWC fosters the development of good citizens. Use your personally experiences of how a KOWC coach has helped you become a better person. Do the KOWC coaches use and promote teamwork to help athletes be the best they can be? Please explain? I got into wrestling after watching WWE for many years. I thought that it would be the same type of thing. It was totally different. I fell in love with this sport right then. I have watched WWE once since then, it was the worst thing i have ever seen. I Joined KOWC because i wanted to expand my skills as a wrestler. I am Still in the club because i feel those skills have not become what they need to be. I hav also met some very nice people, which some have become friends. Well, when i first read this question i thought of what i could say. It is simple though of course it does. To be a competitive Wrestler you need to be very healthy. Wrestling has taught me a lot of disipline, it is probably from enkins yelling at me all the time... HAH Jokes. Of course they do. Wrestling is as much as a team sport as it is a solo sport. The coaches have done a great job in everything they do. Keep up the great work guys! Well thats my 0.02 cents! Love Greg

I started wrestling with a friend recommendation, and have loved wrestling ever since. I continue to wrestle, since it is a great sport and it keeps you fit physically and mentally. The KOWC is sweet, since you meet new people and can experiment moves with them. KOWC promotes a healthy lifestyle, since the coaches promote strenuous physical activity. Hmmm....keeps you out of trouble.. The coaches do an excellent job at promoting teamwork, through various games and activities. I believe that teamwork is essential in order to be the best you can be.
